MArTA Lab

The National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA) is one of the most important archaeological museums in the world. It exhibits one of the most complete collections of artifacts from the Magna Graecia era, including the famous Ori of Taranto. It is owned by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, which since 2014 has counted it among the museum institutes with special autonomy.

The MArTA Lab, the fablab of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto is located on the floor of the Museum, in a space of 50 square meters, set up with digital machinery such as 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser cutting, Arduino technologies and modeling and data processing programs . PaLEoS srl (born in 2018) in 2020 won the tender for the management of the laboratory for six years. During the first year the call provides for the start-up of the activities and the creation of a digital archive, while in the following 5 years it will aim at the commercial exploitation of the archive, through the creation of digital products and services and training.
